Feature artist, Toby Stanley
Meet Crystalbrook Bailey's feature artist, Toby Stanley
Toby's exhibition, titled 'Music Meets the Ocean' will be on display from Friday 3 December until Sunday 30 January in the lobby.
When music meets the ocean, creativity surges. Toby’s work is grounded in this concept and captures the unique connection between his love for music and the ocean. His creative practice, inspired by faces and places met on his travels, allows him to document the connections with his urban surroundings and nature . As an established Cairns based photographer, Toby’s portfolio has grown in recent years. He has taken on many large scale creative, commercial and personal projects, all of which are defined by his passion for capturing authenticity.
Meet the artist
Born in New Zealand and raised in the Far North, Toby has been behind the lens since 2012. His work is grounded in exploration of the region and live music at festivals. Toby's creativity is heightened when in nature, where he is most at peace with himself and his work. 'Music meets the Ocean' features work from Toby's travels throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia and New Zealand. Toby’s creativity mirrors that of his subjects, whether it be artists in performance or the ebb and flow of the tides. His photography gallery transcends a single genre, allowing his love for the craft to narrate his career.
We invite you to join us for the exhibition opening night and artist talk on Friday 3 December from 6:30pm. It's free to attend with nibbles and a paid bar available.
