Feature Artist, Yarrabah Arts & Cultural Precinct
Crystalbrook Bailey x Yarrabah Arts & Cultural Precinct
Crystalbrook Bailey proudly presents Truth in Print, a bold new body of collaborative screen-printed works by the artists of Yarrabah Arts & Cultural Precinct: Philomena Yeatman, Michelle Yeatman, Edna Ambrym, Valmai Pollard, and Simone Arnol. Discover their work as Crystalbrook Bailey’s Feature Artists on display in the Crystalbrook Bailey lobby from 1 October until 28 November 2025.
Truth in Print showcases a series of six screen-printed canvases, transforming humble studio dropsheets into works that carry the weight of words central to the Yarrabah community: Always. Respect. Truth. Screen printing has long been a tool of resistance, visibility, and collective voice. In this series, the artists reclaim that process, embedding it with the values and stories that guide them as First Nations people.
Each print is a reminder that First Nations people have always been here, that respect for Country, culture, and one another is essential, and that truth is not negotiable but necessary for healing and moving forward. The works are both contemporary and grounded in legacy, speaking to history while asserting presence in the now.
Truth in Print is a collaboration of many hands and voices. It is a statement of identity, resilience, and unity – an invitation for all who encounter these works to reflect on the power of language, the importance of respect, and the enduring truth that this Country holds
We invite you to join us for the exhibition opening night on Friday 3 October from 6:00pm. It’s free to attend, with drinks available for purchase from CC's Bar & Grill.
