'You Had Me At Cake' with Emelia Jackson
A Book Launch Lunch
An intimate long lunch celebrating cake, creativity and one of Australia’s most loved dessert voices, as Emelia Jackson comes to Newcastle and Roundhouse for a special book launch event during Newcastle Food Month this April.
MasterChef: Back to Win champion, pastry chef and author, Emelia Jackson is the brains (and butter) behind beloved baking books 'Cream the Butter and Sugar' and 'Some of My Best Friends Are Cookies', and her deliciously anticipated new release, 'You Had Me At Cake'.
Set high above the city at Roundhouse on the rooftop of Crystalbrook Kingsley, guests will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine before settling in for a three-course lunch inspired by Emelia’s latest book. In collaboration with Emelia, Crystalbrook Kingsley Executive Chef Joey Ingram presents a menu that balances refined savoury courses with joyful nods to her signature dessert style, paired with First Creek Wines.
Throughout the lunch, expect stories from Emelia's culinary journey and the making of her 'You Had Me At Cake' in a live Q&A. Copies will be available to purchase on the day, with time after the lunch for book signings and a chance to meet Emelia.
A relaxed, indulgent afternoon for anyone who believes there is always room for dessert.
Sunday 12 April, from 12:30pm
$160pp – inclusive of a 3-course lunch and First Creek wines, plus a Q&A with Emelia
