Feature Artist, Linda Johnson

Crystalbrook Bailey x Linda Johnson

Discover the charm and storytelling of Linda Johnson, whose delicate watercolours capture the spirit of place through colour, detail, and quiet moments of whimsy. Explore her work as Crystalbrook Bailey’s feature artist for April and May with the exhibition Little Adventures, One Postcard at a Time.

On display in the Crystalbrook Bailey lobby from 1 April to 29 May 2026, this exhibition invites guests to journey through Far North Queensland and beyond, one painted postcard at a time. Each piece reflects Linda’s love of travel, observation, and the small details that make a place memorable.

Linda’s work is a celebration of everyday adventures. Inspired by her own travels and photography, her postcard series Linda and the Cat Nomads transforms real locations into playful visual stories. Look closely and you will find Linda and her feline companions subtly woven into each scene, adding a sense of curiosity and narrative to familiar streets and landmarks.

Working primarily in watercolour, Linda brings a softness and warmth to her subjects. Her focus on buildings and streetscapes captures not just how places look, but how they feel. Sunlit facades, quiet corners, and well-loved local spots come to life through gentle washes of colour and thoughtful detail.
