Shine on Gimuy Festival
A celebration of art, culture, language and history...
Crystalbrook Collection proudly partners with Shine on Gimuy. Hosted by the Yidinji Nation, Shine On Gimuy is a celebration of art, culture, language and history on the homelands of the Yidinji people.
Festival highlights:
Art and Culture: Immerse yourself in the world of Indigenous art through exhibitions and live art installations, where stories come to life through paintings, sculptures, and traditional crafts.
Music and Dance: Experience the enchanting sounds of Indigenous music and witness captivating dance performances that connect you with Australia's cultural heartbeat. Enjoy live music performances by Dan Sultan, Emily Wurramara, Miiesha and Jungaji.
Food and Cuisine: Savour the flavours of Gimuy with diverse food stalls offering both traditional Indigenous dishes and modern fusion cuisine.
Community and Connection: Shine on Gimuy brings together diverse individuals to forge new connections, share stories, and discover the region's unique heritage. The ‘Deep Wisdom’ Talk Series will discuss a range of topics including, ‘Meet the Knowledge Investigators behind the World's First Inventors’, ‘The Story of Sovereign Country; The Origins of The Living Cultures’, ‘Sophisticated Communications, Message Sticks and Songlines’ and ‘Sea Country and Marine Resources - The World's Largest Coral Reef System’.
We invite you to be a part of Shine on Gimuy, a celebration that transcends boundaries and embraces the spirit of Gimuy and Far North Queensland.
