Story Bridge

The heritage-listed bridge, named after prominent public servant John Douglas Story, first opened in July 1940 and stands today as the largest steel bridge designed, fabricated and constructed in Australia.

What to expect on your Story Bridge Climb

Arrive at the climb base camp beneath Story Bridge at least 15 minutes before your scheduled climb, where you will be supplied with a fully enclosed climb suit. After a short pre-climb briefing, you will ascend a spiral staircase, where you will then connect to the climb line and begin your journey along a suspended walk to the base of the bridge's pylon. From there, you will start the climb to the summit platform before making your way almost halfway across the river and making your return to base camp.

Along the journey, you will learn fun facts about the history of Story Bridge and Brisbane, with plenty of time to take in the stunning views. Each climb includes a group photograph and individual images at an additional cost.
