Brisbane City Markets

Nothing beats a wander around Brisbane City Markets, hosted on Wednesdays and Thursdays at two prime inner-city locations. The original market on Reddacliff Place near Queen Street Mall is home to over 80 stalls with a selection of farm-direct produce, local meats, fresh seafood, flowers, baked goods and gourmet food, ideal for stocking up on weekly supplies.

The second market location in Cathedral Square is smaller in size but just exciting, with an array of delicious street eats, homemade treats and fresh produce. These Brisbane markets are a favourite amongst city workers, locals and tourists, with a variety of foodie options and live entertainment to liven up your midweek lunch.

The Collective Markets

Whether you love a day or night market, The Collective Markets— held each weekend at Stanley Plaza in South Bank, Brisbane —is the place to be. The markets kick off on Friday evening, reopening all day Saturday and open until 4 pm on Sunday, offering a prime spot to peruse stalls, grab a bite, and listen to local musicians while soaking up the festive atmosphere. 

This popular Brisbane market is home to an impressive lineup of stalls selling original art and photography, new and vintage clothing, jewellery, homewares and a feast of delicious food and beverages. To celebrate the festive season, the Collective Markets hold a special Christmas Edition with handcrafted gifts and festive goodies on sale.

Jan Powers Farmers Markets

Undoubtedly one of Brisbane’s best weekend farmers markets, the Jan Powers Farmers Markets has championed local growers for over 30 years. The markets are held in three locations, including Manly, Mitchelton and along the banks of the Brisbane River at the historic Powerhouse in New Farm. 

The Powerhouse markets, open from 6 am to noon each Saturday, showcase some of the region’s finest local produce with fresh fruit and vegetables, handmade pasta, bread, artisan cheeses and handpicked flowers. The markets also host a variety of coffee vans and food trucks, offering a delicious selection of Saturday morning breakfast options from acai bowls and smoothies to brekkie burgers and loaded bagels. Riverside Markets

Nothing beats a lazy weekend morning exploring the lines of stalls at Brisbane’s Riverside at the Gardens Market. One of the longest-running markets in Brisbane, Riverside Markets is a favourite gathering spot amongst locals and tourists, with an abundance of local art, fashion, food, coffee and live music, all in a prime location at Brisbane’s City Botanic Garden.
